Claim

In the event of an disaster resulting in a loss of funds, an affected user can submit a claim for compensation. This claim may or may not be disputed, but if there is no dispute it will be automatically validated. In the event of a dispute, the Kleros protocol and its decentralised jury system will validate or invalidate the claim.

If the claim is invalidated, the case is closed.

If the claim is validated, the claimant will be able to withdraw the compensation 48 hours later.

When a claim is validated, if the funds involved in the compensation have been provided by the liquidity provider in several pools, the amount of the claim is withdrawn from the pools and sent to the claimant.

In the example above, a claim for $100 has been submitted following a loss, and validated. The amount is then withdrawn from the relevant pool and all dependent pools before being transferred to the claimant. Once transferred to the claimant, the amount is deducted from the guarantee provider's capital.
